Thigh Liposuction in Houston Texas

Sunday, April 6th, 2014, 12:14 am

Liposuction of the thighs is one of the most challenging areas where to do a liposuction. Only certain areas of the thigh can be liposuctioned. The inner thigh (or the medial thigh) is an area that may respond well to liposuction. However, the skin of the inner thigh or medial thigh is very thin and sometimes loose. Excessive liposuction in this area may allow dents and irregularities to become more exaggerated. A conservative approach is usually best, and I would encourage you to consider liposuction of this area only with a qualified plastic surgeon. They must know exactly what they’re doing in that particular region, because there is little or no room for error.

Zone of Adherence

There are certain areas of the thighs that are more susceptible to superficial contour deformities. These areas are the zones of adherence where the superficial fatty layer is adherent to the fascia of the muscle.  These zones are the inferolateral iliotibial tract (lower lateral thigh near knee), middle medial thigh, and distal posterior thigh (lower back of thighs.)  It is not recommended to perform liposuction in these areas.  These areas need to be preserved.  Liposuction in these areas most likely will produce contour irregularities that may be difficult to correct.  Avoiding deep liposuction in these areas will prevent dimpling, concavities and other contour irregularities.

Need for Thigh Lift

Often, when patients have loose skin, liposuction of the thighs alone may not be sufficient. A medial thigh lift or a lateral thigh lift may need to be combined with your liposuction of the thighs. There are several methods and techniques of thigh lifts, and each technique should be individualized to each patient.

4 D VASER High Definition Liposculpture of the Thighs

Recent randomized studies revealed that VASER liposuction produces more skin retraction, as well as less bleeding, when compared to traditional liposuction. Dr. De La Cruz performs the 4D VASER High Definition Liposculpture in conjunction to a thigh lift, depending on the severity of the loose skin of the patient.
